A teen allegedly led Pleasantville police on a chase Monday in a stolen car reportedly used in a robbery.
Officer Juan Forrero was on patrol at about 11:45 a.m., when he saw a vehicle matching one reported stolen from the city about two weeks ago, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
When he ran the registration, it came back as stolen. The driver, a 16-year-old from Atlantic City, refused to stop and drove from Fourth Street and Woodland Avenue to head north on Main Street.
The driver continued south on Linden Avenue and back to Woodland. He wound up on New Road, where he got onto the Atlantic City Expressway, Hartman said.
During the pursuit, communication told officer that the car had allegedly been used in an Atlantic City robbery on Sunday.
By about 11:50 a.m., the driver reached milemarker 6.1 westbout, where a flat tire disabled the vehicle, Hartman said.
The driver and two teen passengers from Pleasantville were taken into custody using high-risk tactics, Hartman said.
The stop closed the expressway's westbound lanes for about 10 minutes.
Pleasantville's Criminal Investigations personnel assisted in the pursuit and are working with the Atlantic City police in the investigation.
