An Egg Harbor Township woman was stabbed and a man who tried to help her was assaulted on Friday, police said.
Officer Charles Davenport was flagged down on Tilton Road in the area of Atlantic Gardens in the township at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, Lt. Robert Gray said.
Stacy Ward, 45, was found inside an Atlantic Gardens residence stabbed multiple times in the chest, according to the report.
Shawn Delgado, 45, allegedly stabbed her after a short argument, then attacked Kurt Stine, who tried to help, the report states.
Ward and 53-year-old Stine were treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus with non-life threatening injuries.
Delgado was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, criminal restraint, false imprisonment and simple assault.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $200,000 full bail.
