Sylvan Giltman, of Galloway Township, passed away on Jan. 5, 2017.

He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Sylvan proudly graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1960. Subsequently, he attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathy for three years. He worked as a pharmacist at RXD Pharmacy in Blackwood for over 25 years. He was also a preceptor for Rutger's, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and Farleigh Dickenson University.

He trained countless pharmacists over the years, and enjoyed developing relationships with all his students and customers. In 2011, Sylvan was awarded an honorary doctorate from Temple University for his outstanding and lifelong contribution to the education of young pharmacists.

Sylvan was a devoted and attentive father. Even though he worked countless hours, he never missed an opportunity to be there for his children. He never met a stranger that didn't turn into a friend.

He is survived by his daughters, Annie Zimmerman and Dori Giltman, brother, Jerry Giltman, and grandson, Daniel, whom he loved spending time with. Sylvan is also survived by many other caring extended family.

Graveside services will held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Rodef Sholom Cemetery, 6691 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township.
