An Atlantic City man was arrested Wednesday after leading officers on a foot chase and being found with a stolen handgun and heroin.
Officers Nicholas Berardis and Ermindo Marsini saw Darryl Jackson in drug sale in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Jackson ran when the officers tried to stop him, according to the report.
They arrested Jackson several blocks away and found him with a loaded handgun in his waistband and 40 bags of heroin in his pocket, Fair said.
The handgun had been reported stolen in 2002 from Winslow Township.
Jackson, 33, of Atlantic City, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possessession of a weapon by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.
He also had three active warrants.
Jackson is now in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
