Two men and a woman were indicted Thursday for their parts in the killing of a Pleasantville man and the kidnapping of a witness last year.
Mark Smith, 19, was found with a gunshot wound to the head after police responded to several 911 calls to Vola Lane at about 11:30 p.m. July 14.
Smith was taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantis City, where he was prounounced dead at 12:15 a.m.
Hassan Montague-Reed, 23, of Pleasantville, was later charged with murder.
Montague-Reed, Dijon Emory and Shaheeda Frisby then allegedly forced a person who witnessed the shooting into the basement of the Abbey Lane home where Montague-Reed and Emory lived. The unnamed victim was held for a "substantial period of time" through force and threats of force, according to the charges.
The victim was eventually released.
The three were indicted for kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, witness tampering and conspiracy to commit witness tampering.
Frisby, 21, and Emory, 20, were arrested at that home July 16, by members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Pleasantville police and the Atlantic County Regional SWAT team.
They were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on a half-million dollars full cash bail.
Montague-Reed was a fugitive for three months, until he was arrested Nov. 1, in Cobb's County, Georgia, by members of the local Sheriff's Department, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said.
