Family of Pleasantville homicide victim looks for help, answers

  • News

Ruben Reyes' life wasn't supposed to end like this.
Known as Tito, the Atlantic City man was gunned down in Pleasantville on Jan. 10.
"We are still waiting for answers," Ana Nunez said of her brother.
The 28-year-old man was found shot in the area of Leeds Avenue and North Main Street at about 10:45 p.m.
Everything about Tito was about reaching out and helping, friends and family said. And he was always doting on his only son, who is 6.

An older family photo shows Reyes with his mother and two sisters.

"He didn't deserve to go the way he did," Nunez said. "We don't know much about the investigation. We want answers."
The family also wants to be able to give him a proper sendoff, but needs help.
His mother, Marisol Ortiz, can't do it alone, her daughter said.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for those who want to help with the service.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the killing.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666 or Pleasantville police at 609-641-6100.
