A man on probation for a drug charge was arrested Sunday after he allegedly harassed an acquaintance with a handgun.
Officers Keith Ferguson, Rick Lasco and Gary Holmes responded to the 800 block of Lexington Avenue for the report of a man on the porch with a handgun, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Two women inside the residence refused to allow the man in.
Officers found Effay Johnson, 24, on the rear porch, according to the report.
They found a loaded handgun in his jacket pocket, Fair said.
Johnson was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and domestic violence harassment.
He sentenced to three years' probation for third-degree possession of oxycodone last year, court records show.
Johnson was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Bail information was not immediately available.
