An Atlantic City man was arrested Wednesday in the 2014 killing of an Absecon man.
Alexander Campbell, 24, is charged in the Dec. 22, 2014, killing of 22-year-old Kenneth Sandoz.
Sandoz was found shot multiple times in the 1200 block of Adriatic Avenue at 7:47 p.m.
The 25-month investigation led to Campbell being charged Wednesday at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he was being held on an unrelated matter.
"Finally, Justice for my son," said Sandoz's mother, Laura Trusty.
Sandoz left behind two daughters and a son. At the time of his death, his son was 3. His one daughter was 2 years and the other just 6 months.
His mother-in-law, Ana Rivera, is raising the two girls.
She said the situation is sad, "but we are getting closure."
She was not sure if the two men knew each other.
Campbell is charged with two counts of murder, for purposely and for knowingly causing the death, along with weapons charges.
UPDATE:
A jury found Campbell not guilty of murder Oct. 6, 2017. On May 14, 2018, Campbell was killed in Atlantic City.
