A Georgia man was arrested in a high-risk car stop in Pleasantville on Tuesday.
Police received a report that people in a vehicle possibly had a handgun in the area of First Street and Adams Avenue, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
Patrolman Juan Morillo spotted the vehicle several blocks away, and called for backup for a high-risk stop on Martin Luther King Boulevard, just west of Route 9.
The three people inside were
removed and a handgun was found.
The driver, Christopher Calvinaur, 37, of Atlanta, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on outstanding failure to appear warrants from another jurisdiction.
Passenger Emery Chapman, 39, of Egg Harbor Township, was also arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant, processed and released pending a court appearance.
The other passenger was released without charges.
