Atlantic City car stop leads to a pound of pot

Atlantic City police found a pound of marijuana after pulling a driver over Thursday night. Officers Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson stopped the car at Michigan and Grant avenues after the driver made several traffic violations, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. As they spoke with the driver, Michael Hargis, they could smell the strong odor of marijuana, according to the report. They searched the vehicle and found a pound of marijuana. Hargis, 32, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within a school zone, along with multiple motor vehicle summonses. The Atlantic City resident was released on a summons.
