Teen stabbed in Pleasantville

  • News
A teenager was hospitalized after he was stabbed Friday afternoon waiting to pick his brother up from high school. "I don't even know who he was," Ibn Blackwell told BreakingAC in a phone call from his hospital room. "I passed out. I remember there was blood everywhere and I ended up here."
Ibn Blackwell said the stab wound just missed his lung and heart. Video posted by someone on Facebook shows the 18-year-old Vineland High School senior wounded in the street. He was stabbed at 2:19 p.m. in the area of Reading Avenue and New Road, Capt. Matt Hartman said. "A lot of stuff is on my mind," Blackwell said. "It's time for me to get my life together. This is a wakeup call. This is for all the youth out there too." Blackwell recently got out of the Atlantic County Justice Facility. He was arrested on a warrant he said he was unaware of, he said. "It's time for me to get back to my music," he said. "I have to chase the money instead of chasing the drama." Police are attempting to identify the suspect. But Blackwell said he will be no help in that area. "I don't know who it was, so there's no point in talking to police," he said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-641-6100.
