The 2014 disappearance of an Egg Harbor Township man is now being investigated as a homicide after his remains were found in a township lot earlier this year, the Atlantic County prosecutor said Wednesday.
Barry Brown, 55, was reported missing Oct. 7, 2014.
His whereabouts remained unknown when remains were found Jan. 25 of this year in a lot adjacent to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority on Doughty Road in the township, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
On Feb. 2, the remains were positively identified as Brown.
A forensic analysis was also done, and in April, it was determined that the manner of death was homicide.
Tyner did not indicate exactly how Brown died.
