Remains found in EHT belong to man missing since 2014

  • News
The 2014 disappearance of an Egg Harbor Township man is now being investigated as a homicide after his remains were found in a township lot earlier this year, the Atlantic County prosecutor said Wednesday. Barry Brown, 55, was reported missing Oct. 7, 2014. His whereabouts remained unknown when remains were found Jan. 25 of this year in a lot adjacent to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority on Doughty Road in the township, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. On Feb. 2, the remains were positively identified as Brown. A forensic analysis was also done, and in April, it was determined that the manner of death was homicide. Tyner did not indicate exactly how Brown died. Anyone with information is asked to call the Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666. Witnesses may also call Egg Harbor Township police at 609-927-5200.
