A Pleasantville man crashed his car after being shot at early Sunday morning, police said.
Police responded to the area of Second Street and Adams Avenue in Pleasantville for a report of shots fired at 1:13 a.m., but found no evidence of a shooting, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
But about 10 minutes later, Egg Harbor Township police called saying they had a man at the NJ Transit Bus Maintenance Yard just off Washington Avenue, who said he had been shot at.
Alexander Neewilly, 22, said he was near the railroad tracks at Devins Lane when someone shot at his car, causing him to crash into the area of 914 W. Washington Avenue, damaging NJ American Water Company property.
Neewilly then ran to the NJ Transit facility, according to the report.
He was not injured.
The incident is being investigated by Violent Crimes Unit Detective Sgt. Angelo Maldonado.
