Trucker from Texas winds up stuck on Ventnor Boardwalk

  • News
Photos by Fred Maccarella Police have identified a truck driver who blamed his GPS on a turn that landed him on the Boardwalk in Ventnor. Antonio Menjivar, 60, of Dallas, Texas, told police he got on the Boardwalk at Albany Avenue in Atlantic City, and drove west.. After about 2½ miles, he wound up stuck in Ventnor, unable to get off or back up, Police Chief Doug Biagi said. The driver said he was lost and unfamiliar with the area, according to the report. Ventnor Public Works responded and made alterations to the Boardwalk that allowed him to exit at Washington Avenue, Biagi said. The Boardwalk is open to foot and bicycle traffic. An engineer will evaluate any damage. Menjivar was issued a summons for vehicle on the Boardwalk, Biagi said. He did not drive recklessly and was off road.
