Absecon police are investigating a shot fired at a hotel early Thursday morning.
A call of a shot fired on the fourth floor of the Red Roof Inn came in just before 2 a.m., police said.
A man got into an altercation with people in one of the rooms on the fourth floor, according to witnesses.
At some point, the suspected fired a shot from the hallway through the closed door of the room, police were told.
The suspect is described as a black male with a lean, athletic build, about 6-foot-1 with dreadlocks coming past his shoulders.
No one was reported injured in the shooting.
Both the suspect and those inside the room had fled before the police arrived.
