Detention hearings are scheduled this week for three men accused of murder in a shooting that left a Bridgeton girl dead.
Jennifer Trejo, 9,
was killed when a stray bullet came through her bedroom while she was asleep at about 12:30 a.m. July 17.
Michael Elliott, Leroy Frazier III and Charles Gamble are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and weapons offenses, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae announced Friday.
Gamble, 18, and Elliott, 25, will appear before Superior Court Judge Robert Malestein at about 9 a.m. Thursday. Frazier will have his detention hearing before Judge Joseph Chiarello at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Under bail reform, there is no monetary bail, so detention hearings are held in order to keep suspects until their case goes through the system. It is expected all three will be ordered held.
