Atlantic City man had $20,000 worth of cocaine in his motel room, police say

  • News

An Atlantic City man had about $20,000 worth of cocaine in his motel room, police said. Donnell Parker, 51, was the target of an ongoing investigation, and had an active warrant, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. He was the passenger in a car stopped at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday, and was found with six grams of cocaine and $1,700 in cash, according to the report. After the arrest, detectives got a warrant to search Parker’s motel room in the Rodeway Inn on the beach block of North Carolina Avenue.  Inside they found more than 18 ounces of cocaine with a street value of $20,000, Fair said. They also recovered digital scales and materials used to package the cocaine into individual bags, Fair said. The month-long investigation was led by Detectives Thomas McCabe and Brian Hambrecht.
