Teens arrested after Atlantic City surveillance personnel see vandalism on video

  • News

Two teens were arrested after Atlantic City police surveillance personnel saw them trying to damage a camera in Stanley Holmes, police said. Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, police said the boys were seen in the 1500 block of Wabash Place, taking turns climbing a fence and trying to smash a camera's dome with what appeared to be a gun, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. One of the boys then got a metal pipe and tried to strike the dome, causing minor damage, according to the report. Patrol officers responded to the scene and stopped several males. An Airsoft replica handgun was recovered in the waistband of a 17-year-old boy. He and a 16-year-old were arrested, Fair said. The teens were then turned over to their parent/guardian who was also issued an ordinance violation for allowing the boys to be out past curfew.
