Atlantic City parade celebrates St. Patrick's Day on Saturday

  • News

St. Patrick’s Day will come to Atlantic City a week early.
The annual parade honoring the Irish holiday will begin 1 p.m. Saturday on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
City police are encouraging people to have fun - but not get out of hand.
There will be additional drunken driving patrols for Saturday and on the holiday itself, March 17, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
People are also being encouraged to “Do AC” without their cars.
“We ask that you wait for a jitney, stop a tram, hail a cab or be a HERO and drive your friends,” Fair said. “Please do not drink and drive.”
Both uniformed and plainclothes officers will be stationed throughout the parade route.
Laws against underage drinking will also be strictly enforced, police warn.
Anyone with information about underage drinking or in need of assistance is urged to call 911. Information can also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
