Community leaders step up to feed give the homeless Thanksgiving

  • News
Members of the community have been coming together to help feed those in need as Thanksgiving approaches. Princess Inc. set a goal to feed 600 people in their second year of Thanksgiving To Go.  Instead, they reached about 950. "So no only did the homeless get fed but so did the elders of the community," said Automne Bennett who started Princess Inc. with Indra Owens. https://www.facebook.com/automne.bennett/posts/10215740577523219 The group was able to get several donors and had help from city officials and civic leaders to get the meals to those who could use them. Another Thanksgiving meal event is set for Saturday. James Pressley is leading CommUNITY Day 1 p.m. at Atlantic City's Turning Point Day Center, 1717 Bishop Richard Allen Avenue. Anyone who wants to help can call Pressley at 609-513-9869, Erica Marshall at 609-287-8156 or Nikki Goines at 609-513-5727.
