Somers Point man still missing after going fishing Saturday

  • News
A Somers Point man is still missing five days after he went to go fishing in Ocean City. Sam DeLarso, 53, left his home some time between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday, his daughter, Samantha DeLarso, told BreakingAC. His truck was found on Ocean City's northend beach. Grainy surveillance video shows him exiting his car at about 5:30 a.m., Samantha DeLarso said Thursday. "He was going to grab bait so we could all go fishing (Saturday) afternoon," she previously said. Her father has a bad back and takes medication, and can usually last only a few hours out, she said. "This is very out of the ordinary," DeLarso said. She called police, hospitals and even the jail with no luck. The U.S. Coast Guard searched for 12 hours with no sightings. Authorities are aware, and the family has spoken with an Ocean City detective and members of the Coast Guard. A tow truck company opened it, and they found his phone and fishing rods inside, but his crabbing bucket was missing. If he was crabbing, Sam DeLarso would have had on a belt that a net hooks to along with his waders and been in waist-deep water. Sam DeLarso is described as 6-foot-2, weighing about 190 pounds. He is a "super tan" avid fisherman with a diamond earring in his left hear, a thick silver chain with a fishing hook and a black watch on his left wrist. He has no tattoos. He also always has sunglasses on a lanyard around his neck. The truck is being kept where it was found "in case it turns into a crime scene," his daughter said. The family has called all his fishing buddies along with "anyone whose boat we've ever been on," but no one has seen or heard from him, Samantha DeLarso said. Anyone who has seen him or has any information is asked to call police. https://www.facebook.com/samantha.delarso/posts/2183463494998364
