A Long Beach Township police sergeant and attorney has found himself on the other side of the law.
Sgt. Gerard Traynor, 52, is accused of accessing secure computer-based information for personal reasons, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Traynor is charged with two counts of computer criminal activity.
He was released on a summons.
Long Beach Police Chief Anthony Deely has suspended Traynor pending a conclusion of the case, according to Billhimer.
Traynor has a law practice in Surf City. His specialties include drunken driving cases, tickets, real estate and criminal law, according to his page.
