N.Y. man jailed for sex with 15-year-old Cape girl

A New York man is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old Cape May County girl that included trips to his home in New York and visits with his family.Richard Gabriel Piedra Ordonez is a 35-year-old man from Sunnyside, N.Y. But he told the unnamed girl that he was 20 years old when they first started talking over social media in May, according to the complaint.That May and June, he allegedly drove to her home, picked her up and took her in his car. On one those times, the two had sex using a condom that was discarded outside of the car, according to the complaint. Ordonez also took the girl to New York, giving her a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that was used to communicate with him and to take pictures of herself with him and his family, the complaint states.Searching the phone, investigators found a video of the two having sex, according to the complaint.The investigation including looking into their correspondence via Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.After the girl was a passenger in a crash on the Garden State Parkway in November, Ordonez went to the scene, according to one Snapchat discussion.“I went there. I saw the car,” he wrote. “The police stopped me and hold my car key. They didn't want to tell me anything. They told me you were a runaway and how did I know you. I thought I was going to get arrested."He then asked her when she was going to move in with him.She replied: “18. I want to be legal.”He then notes that it’s three years until she turns 18.“Are you going to wait that long?” he allegedly asked. “You are not going to leave me for someone closer and better looking?"Ordonez is charged with one count of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and one count of traveling for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct.He was expected to have his first appearance Wednesday afternoon.The count of transporting a minor carries 10 years to live with a $250,000 fine. Traveling for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
