  • News

A 14-year-old has been arrested in a shooting that wounded another teenager Wednesday in Atlantic City.
The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m., leaving a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

The teen was identified through an investigation by the city's Violent Crimes Unit.
A wanted flyer was given to officers, and within 90 minutes, Officer Armani Rex found the suspect in the 600 block of North New York Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
He had a loaded handgun, brass knuckles and a small amount of marijuana, according to the report.
The investigation was helped by tips from the community and the tip411 anonymous texting line, Fair said.
The 14-year-old is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
His name is not being released due to his age.
The teen is being held at the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
