An anonymous phone call led to a lockdown at Atlantic City High School on Tuesday.
The students and staff were ordered to shelter in place around noon, police said as the incident was unfolding.
Less than a half-hour later, police had rendered the building safe, and allowed movement to resume.
The investigation is ongoing.
