Sheriff's officers honored for saving man at courthouse

  • News

Four Atlantic County sheriff's officers were honored for saving a man who overdosed at the Atlantic County Criminal Courthouse last month.
Officers were called after the man was found unresponsive in a restroom at the courthouse in Mays Landing, according to Undersheriff Mike Petuskey.
The officers suspected a drug overdose and were unable to find a pulse.
Narcan was administered via nasal spray, reversing the effects, according to the report.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken to the AtlantiCare Medical Center in Pomona.
Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler presented life-saving awards last week to Officers Tonya Perednas and Officer Robert Frey, and Investigators Dalton Rodriquez Investigator Matthew Richardson.
