Egg Harbor Township man gets probation in Kauffman trial witness-tampering

A retired Pagan was sentenced to four years' probation Thursday, after pleading guilty to witness-tampering in the Kauffman drug and murder case.
John Kachbalian was also given a suspended 364-day jail sentence.
Kachbalian was arrested Aug. 30, after several Facebook posts included references to the case involving a drug ring led by the late Dr. James Kauffman and the murder of Kauffman's wife, Linwood radio host and veterans advocate, April Kauffman.
The Egg Harbor Township man posted the list of witnesses for the state against fellow Pagan and friend, Ferdinand "Freddy" Augello, on his Facebook, calling it a "rat list."
He also posted a picture of Augello's former wife, Beverly Augello, naked from the back. liand the "rats" who pleaded guilty and would be testifying against Ferdinand Augello.
Kachbalian was accused by Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury of using Facebook posts as "a clarion call" to other Pagans.
When asked if he wanted to address the court before sentencing, Kachbalian said no.

As a condition of his plea, Kachbalian was ordered off social media, especially Facebook.
He also can have no contact with his victims.
Kachbalian was in the Atlantic County jail for 44 days. His release was denied until the trial was over.
Augello is now serving a life sentence for leading a drug ring with the late doctor and for orchestrating the killing of April Kauffman.
