An Atlantic City man was arrested twice in less than six hours, after returning to the scene of his first arrest, where allegedly assaulting a security guard.
Police were called to the Atlantic City Convention Center at 8:19 Wednesday night for a man trespassing who had damaged property, Sgt. Kevin Fair said Friday.
Jalil Ceaser, 34, was arrested by a NJ Transit police officer and turned over to Atlantic City police.
He was charged and released on a summons at 1:25 a.m.
Less than 40 minutes later, Ceaser returned to the Convention Center and struck the on-duty security guard with an object before fleeing, according to the report.
The 57-year-old guard was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus with a serious injury to his eye, Fair said.
He was not arrested then, but police were called again at 3:36 a.m., after Ceaser allegedly returned and damaged property.
K-9 Officer Anthony Grajales-Prado and his partner, Chase, arrived to find Ceaser holding a large piece of wood, Fair said.
He surrendered to Chase and was taken into custody without incident.
Ceaser is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and defiant trespass.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
