Three more Atlantic County residents have died from complications from the coronavirus.The deaths include an Atlantic City man in his 80s, and two Egg Harbor Township men in their 60s, according to county officials.This is the third death of an Egg Harbor Township resident from COVID-19 complications. The death of a township man in his late 50s with underlying health conditions was announced April 2.
“We are saddened by the deaths of these Atlantic County residents as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” County Executive Dennis Levinson said. “We offer our deepest condolences to their families who, like most of us, would have never imagined what has unfolded across our state, our country and the world. "These losses are yet another sobering reminder of why it is so important for each of us to continue to heed the guidance of our health and safety officials, especially in staying home and at a safe distance from others,” he added.
Public health officials also confirmed 16 additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the county total to 156.
The new cases are 10 men ages 22 to 63 and six women ages 26 to 63.
