A man and woman accused in the fatal shooting of a teen on his front porch in Atlantic City have been indicted for murder.
Cu'raan Williams, 17, killed June 8, on the second-floor balcony of his Blaine Avenue home.
Shaquana Lewis was allegedly targeting Williams' foster brother — her daughter's boyfriend — when she drove to the home with her boyfriend, Lewis Johnson, who is accused of killing Williams.
Lewis, 35, of Pleasantville, threatened Williams' brother and foster father before the killing, according to the affidavit, which indicates Williams may not have been the intended target.
Lewis and Johnson, 31, of Newark, were arrested the next day in Pennsylvania, where they allegedly fled after the killing.
A grand jury indicted both on a murder charge. Johnson was also indicted for second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Lewis faces a conspiracy charge.
Lewis told her daughter not to cooperate with the prosecution, Assistant Prosecutor Kathleen Robinson told the judge at the woman's detention hearing in June.
But the daughter did allegedly tell investigators that her mother told her Johnson had a gun and was going to get “Boogz” — the nickname of the girl's boyfriend — as the three drove together to the corner of Blaine and Arkansas avenues before the shooting.
The two remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
