An Atlantic City teen was arrested with a handgun after he and two other teens fled a motor vehicle stop in Brigantine, police said.
Officer Tyler Suralik stopped the car around midnight Friday in the 3200 block of Brigantine Boulevard, police said.
The three teens inside then ran.
Suralik and Officers Brad Huot and Seidel chased after them, according to the report.
Michael Seidel then saw the teen he was chasing discard what turned out to be a loaded handgun from his waistband, police said.
The 17-year-old was immediately apprehended by Seidel and Officer Shane Dugan.
The other two suspects, a 17-year-old from Atlantic City and 15-year old from Bridgeton, were also apprehended after lengthy foot chases, according to the report. Police also seized a quantity of marijuana that was prepackaged for resale as well as a the motor vehicle.
The teen with the gun was taken to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center. The other two teens were charged and released pending appearances in juvenile court.
