An Atlantic City woman wanted for attempted murder has been arrested in Florida.
Myasia Adubato, 21, is charged in the Feb. 8 shooting of a 65-year-old taxi driver.
She was arrested by Escambia County sheriff’s officers Monday in Pensecola, Fla.
Adubato allegedly got the taxi on the beach block of North Carolina Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
When they got to the beach block of Vermont Avenue, Adubato allegedly shot him, and demanded his money and belongings.
The victim exited the taxicab and Adubato ordered him into the backseat, according to the report.
When the victim got back in the cab, Adubato got behind the wheel and started to drive, Fair said. The victim was able to escape at Virginia and Baltic avenues.
Adubato left the area and abandoned the cab several blocks away.
The Violent Crimes Unit was assisted in this investigation by members of the FBI Atlantic City Resident Agency.
Adubato is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence and criminal mischief.
Adubato is awaiting an extradition hearing to be transported back to New Jersey.
