A star Division III college football player is accused in the shooting of an 18-year-old woman in Vineland.Robert Blakely III, 21, of Millville, is charged with attempted murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.Police were called to Inspira Medical Center at about 8:20 p.m. Jan. 2, after the unnamed woman was driven to the hospital in the same vehicle where the shooting happened, police said.
Blakely, a 2016 graduate of Vineland High School, was arrested following an investigation.The Farleigh Dickinson University senior played running back for the football team.He was released from the Cumberland County jail, following a hearing, in accordance with bail reform.The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
