A Margate woman was arrested after she was found unconscious in a vehicle with drugs and her infant in the back seat, Atlantic City police said.
Detective Ryan Kov and Officer Charlene Ruark responded to the area of Arizona and Fairmount avenues at 3:38 p.m. Thursday to find Jessica Muller unconscious in the driver's seat, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The person who called 911 had taken the baby from the vehicle, according to the report.
Once awake, Muller showed signs of being under the influence of narcotics, Fair said.
Cocaine and Xanax were found in the center console along with paraphernalia used to ingest narcotics, according to the report.
She and her baby were taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for evaluation.
Muller, 41, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
She was released on a summons with a future court date.
The Department of Child Protection and Permanency was called.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
