The foster brother of a teen killed in Atlantic City may have been the intended target in the fatal shooting, according to papers obtained by BreakingAC.
While officials have not released his full name, family has confirmed the victim was Curaan Williams.
Shaquana Lewis, 35, and Lewis Johnson, 31, are charged with murder in the killing.
But Lewis was allegedly after her daughter’s ex-boyfriend, Williams’ foster brother, identified in court papers as J.H.
The night before the killing Lewis’ daughter — identified as J.C. —had gotten into a physical altercation with J.H. and Williams, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Lewis then allegedly called J.H.’s father multiple times, threatening his son and telling him he “was dead” and that she was coming to the house, but she “wasn’t coming alone.”
J.C. later told investigators that her mother told her Johnson had a gun and was going to get "Boogz" as the three drove together to the corner of Blaine and Arkansas avenues.
Boogz is J.H.'s nickname.
Johnson got out of the vehicle and started walking toward the victim’s house while J.C. told investigators she walked away, the affidavit states.
She then heard gunshots and saw Johnson run back to the vehicle and drive away, according to the report.
Video shows Johnson and Lewis together shortly before the killing, the affidavit states. The victim’s foster mother went on Facebook Live shortly after Williams was shot, showing that her other son was in the back of a police vehicle.
Lewis and Johnson were arrested Tuesday morning in Wilson Borough, Pa., and have been arraigned there in the first step toward getting the two extradited back to Atlantic County.
Both are charged with murder.
Johnson is also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Lewis is additionally charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The relationship between Lewis and Johnson is not made clear in the affidavit.
