Nearly half of Atlantic County COVID-19 cases are recovered

The percentage of recovered coronavirus cases in Atlantic County is nearly half.Officials said 30 more residents were cleared bringing the total to 1,209 of 2,498, or more than 48 percent.The county also announced the first deaths in four days.A three were women in long-term care in Northfield, ages 85, 92 and 97. There have been 173 deaths in the county.Sixteen cases were also newly confirmed, including a 12-year-old girl.The new cases include four Pleasantville residents, two each from Atlantic City, Galloway Township and Hammonton, and one each in Absecon, Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor Township, Somers Point and Weymouth Township.

Atlantic County will continue its testing on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon behind the Public Works yard in Northfield at New Road and Dolphin Avenue. Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org.Those tested must be county residents with symptoms and a prescription.
