Mays Landing woman killed in EHT crash

A Mays Landing woman died after a crash in Egg Harbor Township on Friday evening.
It the first of two fatal crashes in the township within 15 minutes of one another.
James Ganly was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike at about 5:15 p.m. when Lois Kerbel made an improper turn at the Tower Avenue intersection, and the two vehicles collided, Lt. Stephen Slusarski said.
Kerbel, 85, had to be extricated from her Toyota Camry. She was airlifted to the Trauma Unit at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where she later died of her injuries.
Ganly, 68, of Aberdeen, Md., was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The Black Horse Pike was closed in both directions for about three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. The New Jersey State Police responded with their crash unit to assist with traffic control during the investigation.
The Egg Harbor Township Fire Department and Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, Absecon EMS and the Hamilton Township Police Department assisted at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by Officers Louis Poletis and Benjamin Kollman.
