Friends, family and fellow officers of Thomas McMeekin Jr. came together to honor the life of the fallen officer who succumbed to injuries sustained while directing traffic at the corner of Atlantic and Chelsea avenues in March 2005.
That corner of Chelsea Avenue is now known as Thomas J. McMeekin Jr. Drive.
The 28-year-old was a five-year veteran of the Atlantic City Police Department.
He left behind a wife and 2-year-old daughter.
This Sunday at noon, the 200 Club of Atlantic & Cape May Counties will hold its annual fundraiser luncheon at the Tropicana Atlantic City to support local families of fallen first responders. Click here for more information.
