An 84-year-old Ventnor woman is the latest death attributed to COVID-19 in Atlantic County.The woman had pre-existing conditions, health officials said.There were 39 newly confirmed cases of the virus in the county, including a 5-month-old boy.The oldest is a 93-year-old woman.Atlantic City had 10 new cases, with seven in Hammonton, six in Pleasantville, four in Egg Harbor Township and three in Galloway Township. Absecon and Egg Harbor City had two each, with Brigantine, Northfield, Somers Point and Ventnor each confirming one new case.
An additional case was confirmed but the location has not yet been determined.
To date, 1,931 positives have been confirmed in Atlantic County with 128 deaths. A total of 648 residents have now been cleared as recovered.
Testing will continue next week for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription. Testing is conducted Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing. Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org.
Residents should come prepared with their doctor’s script, proof of residency such as a driver’s license or utility bill, and their appointment confirmation. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so others may have an opportunity to be tested.
In the event of inclement weather (heavy rain and/or high winds) on a scheduled test date, residents with appointments should check the county website (www.aclink.org) for updates regarding postponement and rescheduling.
