An Egg Harbor City man died after he was injured in a dirt bike crash in Hamilton Township.
Police were called to the wooded area off Third Avenue in the township's Mizpah section at about 11:40 a.m. Friday, police said Monday.
Brian Easterday, 29, was traveling south on a dirt trail in the area of the Mizpah Sandwash when he struck a tree, police said.
Easterday, who was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash, was taken from the area by police the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. He later was airlifted by South Star Medivac to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he died of his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by township police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Easterday's family, which includes two daughters.
He was described by those who knew him as having a heart of gold who did whatever he could to help others.
