An Atlantic City man wanted for murder in a 2013 shooting has been arrested in Pennsylvania.
Abdul Bailey, 28, was arrested in Williamsport on Tuesday morning, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
He is now charged in the May 4, 2013 killing of William Clegg outside an Atlantic City convenience store.
The murder charge against Bailey was announced last Wednesday, when Tyner said an investigation had led to charges against him and co-defendant Austin Clark.
Bailey was taken into custody through the efforts of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, the U.S. Marshall Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshall Service Middle Pennsylvania Regional Fugitive Task Force.
An investigation found that Clegg, 21, of Atlantic City, was lured to the spot at 501 N. Indiana Ave. by Bailey and Clark, 26, according to the charges.
One of the men waited on the sidewalk while the other waited down an alley, Tyner said.
He said the man in the alley is the one who shot Clegg multiple times, but did not indicate which man that was.
Clark, 26, is currently in South Woods State Prison, where he is serving a 15-year sentence on robbery and carjacking charges.
Less than two months after the killing, Clark went on a shooting spree through Atlantic City, wounding two people within five hours that resulted in six shooting calls.
Bailey is being held in Pennsylvania pending extradition back to Atlantic County.
