An Atlantic City woman was critically injured in a crash in Absecon on Monday afternoon.
The woman's vehicle left the roadway and struck the barrier median on Absecon Boulevard just west of the Delilah Road overpass, police said.
Police were called to the scene at 3:45 p.m. Members of the Absecon Fire Department had to extricate the woman, whose name is not being released at this time.
She had small children in the vehicle ranging in age from 1 to 3 years old, police said.
They suffered minor injuries.
The woman was rushed to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing, but speed is believed to be a contributing factor.
Traffic was restricted in the area for about five hours while the crash was investigated.
