Four men were arrested and two guns recovered in separate incidents in Atlantic City this weekend.
Police were called to the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue just before 6 p.m. Friday for a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Hassan Muhammad, 39, of Absecon, returned to the scene a short time later, Fair said.
Surveillance Center personnel reviewed video coverage of the crash that showed Muhammad discard a handgun into bushes near the scene, according to the report.
Muhammad was paroled from prison in April of last year, after serving five years for drug and weapons offenses, including possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, a charge that again faces.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The next day, gunfire brought officers to the 2600 block of Fairmount Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert, Fair said.
There was evidence of gunfire, and Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos found several men in the area, according to the report.
An investigation led to the arrests of three men, and recovery of a loaded handgun and 50 bags of heroin, Fair said.
Angel Mariche, 21, of Atlantic City, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, and was sent to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Colin Faulkner, 26, of Atlantic City, was also jailed on a contempt of court warrant, Fair said.
The third man, Ramel Bey, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and released on a summons.
