An Ocean County man wanted in the attempted murder of a Little Egg Harbor Township man was arrested in Atlantic City.
Donald Rutter, 51, of Tuckerton had been wanted since Jan. 6, a day after police were called to Jarvis Marine on Radio Road for a shooting, county Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Thomas Jarvis, 55, was found with a gunshot wound to the midsection, according to the report. Jarvis was treated for his injuries and has been released from the hospital.
U.S. marshals arrested Rutter in Atlantic City last week. He remains in the Ocean County jail.
"I am extremely thankful for the outstanding teamwork exhibited by all the law enforcement agencies involved in locating Rutter," Billhimer said. "This is a prime example of law enforcement at its best, with our partners at the local, county, state and federal levels coming together -- working tirelessly for more than three weeks -- to capture a fugitive from justice."
