Three arrested for damaging Atlantic City police car with fireworks

Three people were arrested after they allegedly set off a can of fireworks on the hood of an Atlantic City police car parked outside the Public Safety Building on Wednesday.
An officer saw an explosion and smoke coming from the car at 1:35 p.m., Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Surveillance center personnel determined that a Honda Accord pulled up to the parked, unoccupied police car and placed the can on the hood, according to the report.
As officers searched for the car, police received a report of a Honda Accord setting off fireworks at Michigan and Arctic avenues, Fair said.
Officers Sandra Lino and Nicholas Grasso found the vehicle, and arrested the two women and man inside and recovered numerous cans of fireworks, Fair said
Aisha Wimbish, 20, of Mount Laurel was charged with criminal attempt, conspiracy and disorderly conduct.
Naderiyah Levi, 23, of Darby, Pa., was charged with criminal attempt and disorderly conduct. Elton Paynter, 35, of Philadelphia, was charged with contempt of court.
All three were released on summonses.
