Woman dies after being struck crossing Atlantic City street

An Atlantic City woman died after she was struck crossing the street Wednesday.
Jill Collette, 66, was walking across Atlantic Avenue in the crosswalk when the traffic signal for the opposite flow of traffic turned green, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Daniel Sitarski, 69, of Brigantine was heading west on Atlantic Avenue, when he struck Collette, according to the report.
Sitarski stopped immediately and remained on the scene.
Collette was suffering from serious injuries when officers arrived, Fair said.
She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
