Seven local fire departments are among 16 awarded grants by South Jersey Gas.
Atlantic City, Absecon, Brigantine, Vineland, and Lower, Middle, and Upper townships received a portion of nearly $67,000 given under the annual First Responders Grant Program.
“The South Jersey Gas First Responders Grant Program enables our company to give back to organizations whose continued efforts keep our customers and communities safe,” said South Jersey Gas President and COO Brent Schomber. “As we come into the holiday season, we are proud to partner with this year’s winners to support their work and future initiatives.”
This year, grants were awarded to first responder departments to support the purchase of critical resources, including medical and first-aid gear, traffic flares, body armor, gas meters, fire hoses, communications equipment, safety cameras, and personal protective equipment.
