  • News

An Essex County man is jailed for allegedly luring three teens into his car in Atlantic City.

Yusuflaki Johnson, 51, offered to drive the three teens to a youth program Friday afternoon, according to the report.

Once the teens were in his car, Johnson drove around the area, eventually stopping, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.

Johnson allegedly tried to get one of the juveniles to follow him to a secluded area. Instead, all three walked away, taking photographs of Johnson and his vehicle, Aristizabal said.

An investigation by Detective Brian McKinney led to Johnson being identified as the suspect.

Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos found Johnson driving his vehicle in the first block of North Maine Avenue at 6:37 p.m., and stopped the car, according to the report.

Johnson was arrested without incident.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on a charge of luring a minor into a motor vehicle.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.

NOTE: That Atlantic County jail does not release mugshots under an order by the former Atlantic County prosecutor.
