Atlantic City man arrested with stolen gun and drugs, police say

An Atlantic City man was arrested with a stolen gun and drugs during a surveillance operation Thursday, police said.

Omar Morgan, 25, was seen making a drug deal as police watched the area of Tennessee and Atlantic avenues as the result of residence and business owners complaining about illegal drug activity, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.

When detectives approached Morgan, he was holding three grams of suspected crack cocaine, and was arrested, according to the report.

A loaded handgun reported stolen from North Carolina was found in his waistband, Aristizabal said.

About $300 in cash believed to be from drug sales was also seized.

Morgan also had an active warrant out of Pennsylvania. The details of that charge was not released.

Morgan is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of hollow point ammunition, possession of a controlled dangerous subsance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public building, receiving stolen property and fugitive from justice.
