An Ocean County man is charged in an Absecon hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians.
Police were called to Route 30 near the Crest Motel just before 11 p.m. Dec. 26, according to the report.
An investigation found that a vehicle left the road and struck a man and woman who were walking on the shoulder, police said.
The driver never stopped, according to the report.
The woman was critically injured. The man sustained moderate injuries.
Early the next day, an extensive search led to the suspect vehicle, police said.
Thomas H. Wright, 25, of Brick, was taken into custody.
Police did not list any charges, but municipal court records show he is charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor or drugs. The case has been transferred to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Wright is not listed in the jail.
